Alcatel Viper

The Alcatel Viper a.k.a. the One Touch 7030Y has just passed through the FCC carrying support for AT&T’s WCDMA and LTE bands hinting at an inevitable arrival. This could be the American variant of the recently launched Alcatel One Touch series of smartphones and could be an interesting addition to AT&T’s lineup of affordable LTE smartphones.

The smartphone is rumored to feature a 4.6 inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip, 5MP primary camera, expandable storage and a user replaceable battery. This is pretty much everything we know as of now, which is good enough to suggest that this is a decent midrange smartphone. The highlight however is the LTE chip inside, which should be sufficient to convince potential buyers.

Perhaps we could learn more about this Alcatel smartphone at the IFA 2013 event later this week or even before that if we’re lucky enough. AT&T might even decide to launch this smartphone silently without much fuss as it isn’t a high end smartphone.
