The Alcatel One Touch Idol X, Idol S and Idol Mini were all spotted on the manufacturer’s website. The website reveals the specifications and features of all three devices, but does not indicate the prices and launch date.
Alcatel One Touch Idol X
The Alcatel One Touch Idol X is the largest among the three handsets. It sports a 5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 resolution pixels. It also boasts of a 0 bezel Edge to Edge display, which is protected by Dragontrail Glass and oleophobic coating. Furthermore, its internal frame is made of titanium alloy. This is a lightweight material used in cars and spacecraft that is known for being resistant against extreme temperatures and corrosion. Under the hood, the handset comes with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. The single-SIM variant packs 8GB of user memory, 5.5GB of which are available to the user. Meanwhile, the dual-SIM variant offers 16GB of memory, with 12.7GB available to the user. MicroSD expansion for up to 32GB is available only for the single-SIM variant. This handset also packs a 13.1-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and HDR, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera that can record videos in Full HD quality. The device will draw its power from a 2,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and A-GPS. There is no support for LTE. The smartphone will also have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. Three color options will be available: Slate, Flash Yellow, and Flash Red. This device weighs 130 grams, and is only 6.9 mm thin.
Alcatel One Touch Idol S
The Alcatel One Touch Idol S is a slightly smaller handset. It has a display measuring 4.7 inches, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 resolution. This display is also covered by Dragontrail Glass and oleophobic coating. The smartphone runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. Also onboard is a 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and HDR and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera with HD video capture. The connectivity options available on the device are the same as those found on the Idol X. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, likewise, is its operating system. Several games are pre-loaded on this device, including Gameloft Live, Asphalt 7, Wonder Zoo, Kingdom and Lords, Little Big City, and Uno & Friends. The device will arrive in the colors Slate, Fresh Rose and Cherry Red. This device tops the scale at 110 grams, and is fairly slim like the Idol X, at 7.4 mm.
Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini
Lastly, the One Touch Idol Mini joins the slew of mini smartphones hitting the market. This device features a 4.30-inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 resolution and oleophobic coating. It has a 1.3GHz dual-core CPU and 512MB of RAM. Like the Idol X, the Idol Mini has two variants: a single-SIM one which has 4GB of internal storage and a dual-SIM one with 8GB of storage. Again, microSD expansion is only available for the single-SIM variant. As for its cameras, the Idol Mini offers a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and HDR, and a VGA front-facing camera. The same connectivity options are onboard, as well. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is its operating system. The Idol Mini will be available in three colors: Cranberry Pink, Silver, and Slate. It weighs only 96 grams, but is thicker than the Idol S and the Idol X at 7.9 mm.
