Alcatel seems to be having a very busy week as it has announced yet another device, this time a sleek looking tablet. The Alcatel One Touch Evo 8HD is a trendy looking aluminum based tablet with a decent specs sheet. Alcatel is a little known manufacturer in many markets, so these devices could prove to be a game changer for the company.
The tablet packs a 1.6 GHz dual core processor inside, a 8 inch 720p display, 3MP rear camera, a 2MP front camera, 4GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 64GB) and 1GB of RAM. The tablet also packs a 4,160 mAh battery and comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Pricing and launch details haven’t been announced yet, but it shouldn’t cost anything more than $200 at launch.
Alcatel will also sell a bunch of cool accessories for the tablet like a user upgradeable cellular module to switch between 3G and 4G. It also has the regular protective cases and a dock for the tablet, including something known as the ‘magic’ cover which shows LED notifications from the tablet when attached.
