Over the last few days, the rumor mill is rife with reports of Acer teaming up with ASUS and Lenovo. According to these rumors, a few investment banking companies wanted to persuade ASUS and Lenovo to join forces with Acer. However, Acer has rubbished these reports claiming that it hasn’t received any such offers. The company further mentioned that it isn’t interested in a deal of this magnitude as it wants to do well in the industry on its own.

A company statement said – “While the market has been changing quickly, notebooks, tablets and smartphones still have market potential and Acer will continue to cultivate these market segments and expects to score points sooner or later.”

So this pretty much puts all those rumors to rest, but one can’t help but imagine the might of these three companies if they were put together. Acer, Lenovo and ASUS specialize in the PC industry and have made a more than decent entry into the mobile market as well. But considering what Acer has in store for the mobile industry over the next few months, we think the company is more than capable of handling the mobile division on its own.
