If you want to catch the LG G2 launch but aren’t in New York City, then here is some good news. LG is streaming the event live online via YouTube. As of the moment, there are around two hours to go before the event begins.
While we wait, let us review some of the details what we know about the new LG flagship handset.
A press render of the device has been posted by famous leak source @evleaks just yesterday. If the image is the real deal, which it likely is, the photo is the clearest glimpse that we have had of the LG G2. Prior to the press render leak, different photos purportedly showing the LG G2 have been released online.
The press render shows a smartphone with very thin bezels. Below the display is the LG logo. Meanwhile, on the rear plate, one finds the camera, power, volume rocker buttons, and another LG logo near the bottom.
As for its specifications, the LG G2 is expected to come with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2 or 3GB of RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 13 MP camera with optical image stabilization, a removable 2,610mAh battery, a microSD card slot for expansion, and a nano-SIM card slot. LG will also release accessories like Quadbeat 2 headphones and QuickWindow cases to complement the powerhouse specifications of its new flagship handset.
On August 8th, the LG G2 is expected to be available in South Korea, LG’s home country. Within three months from today, the smartphone will be available from a hundred wireless carriers across the globe. In the United States, all major carriers will offer the device. The smartphone will be available in North America by next month, whereas other markets would have to wait until October to get the LG G2.
