The freshly launched Verizon Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra smartphones are getting a system update as soon as the device is booted up for the first time, claim reports. This update is over 50MB in size, so it isn’t anything major. The update brings the change of Wi-Fi reminders from 30 minutes to 12 hours and a few improvements to Verizon’s ISIS Mobile Wallet payment system. The build number will be bumped to12.7.7 post the update.
There’s no word on whether the Droid Mini will be getting this update anytime soon. The smartphone has begun shipping out only today, so we’ll know in due time. Users are advised to head over to Settings-About Phone-System Updates to check for updates manually if the notification hasn’t popped yet. The two smartphones went on sale a couple of days ago and have been doing well so far. The Motorola Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra are Verizon’s top smartphones right now along with the HTC One which debuted today.
