Only yesterday did we speak about NVIDIA‘s plans for the tablet industry, and we already have a trademark filing for a potential Tegra based tablet called the ‘Tegra Tab’. This is apparently going to be a 7 inch tablet by NVIDIA, which will look to eat up some of that budget tablet marketshare. With the ASUS made Nexus 7 firmly set in the market, the Tegra Tab will certainly have some serious catching up to do. NVIDIA has already stepped into the manufacturing industry with the Shield gaming console, so it wouldn’t be completely farfetched to assume that the company would launch a tablet.
The tablet is rumored to be manufactured by Chinese manufacturer, Homecare Technology. There’s even a mock up of this tablet as you can see from the image, which borrows heavily from the design of the Shield console. This tablet will apparently have a stylus as well, which sets it apart from the rest of the competition. We’re eagerly hoping to hear more about this new tablet as it could be a viable budget option after the Amazon Kindle Fire and the Nexus 7. Perhaps we’ll learn more about this during the IFA event in Berlin next month.
