Another day, another Android 4.2 update. Today, it’s the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos (GT- I9082) which is the beneficiary of the new Android 4.2.2 update. The dual SIM variant appears to be getting the update first, with no information on the regular Galaxy Grand (GT-I9080). Sam Mobile states that the update is now live in Russia and this could well be a partial rollout. So users have to remain patient.
It is rather odd that Samsung has decided to roll out Android 4.2 to smartphones like the Galaxy Grand while the Galaxy S III and the Note II are still stuck on Android 4.1. Perhaps this is the last major update the Galaxy Grand is ever going to get. The Galaxy S III and the Note II as we all know will receive the Android 4.3 update directly, so maybe the wait is going to be worth it. Samsung updated the Galaxy S2 Plus to Android 4.2 last week, which means we could have more Samsung smartphones receiving the new update. Stay tuned.
