We have seen several types of smartphones over the years and it seems like things get taken to a whole new level with every passing year. Last year it was the Samsung Galaxy Beam which came with a built-in projector. And today we have a Samsung smartphone with a built in digital TV receiver. As you can see from the image, the smartphone has a pull out antenna at the bottom. The smartphone packs support for ISDB-T broadcasting standard as well which means users can watch live television on the go. The smartphone sadly remains a Brazil only affair for now, with no word on its availability elsewhere.
The Galaxy S II TV also packs a 4 inch 480×800 display, 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, a 1 GHz dual core processor, 5MP camera, Android 4.2.2 and a 1,500 mAh battery pack. The Galaxy S II TV will sport dual SIM capabilities as well. So going by the specs sheet alone, it is fairly clear that the smartphone is fairly mid-ranged and probably won’t interest a lot of users. There are several Chinese alternatives out there which do the same job, but Samsung’s offering should appear more attractive to potential buyers.
