Samsung has just announced the arrival of the Freeform M on MetroPCS. This will be a low tier QWERTY feature phone with not so fancy specs. The handset sports the model number SGH-T189N. The key selling point of low cost handsets is the cost and the Freeform M will fit in perfectly into the low cost segment even though we don’t have the official pricing yet. There’s no information on the launch either. The handset is not 4G capable and is running on T-Mobile’s GSM network.
The Freeform M sports a 2.4 inch display with a resolution of 320×240, a 2MP camera, 256MB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot (up to 32GB) and a 1,000 mAh battery. The Freeform M is a Java based phone, so there’s no Android on board, but that’s not necessarily a concern for customers. Knowing that this is a low end handset, it won’t surprise us to see MetroPCS launch it without making a lot of noise.
