Google has just launched a sleeve for the 2013 Nexus 7 on the Google Play Store in the U.S and Canada. This is a zip up cover for the tablet, assuring that you don’t pop it out while carrying. It is made of neoprene and has microfiber protective covering from the inside forming a soft cushioning for the tablet. The sleeve costs a hefty $29.99 which is a lot compared to other third party sleeves and cases. The sleeve is currently listed as “Ships in 1-2 business days”, which is relatively quick.
But the real concern arises after you go ahead with your purchase and realize that the order total goes beyond $50 for a case which costs $30. Google is charging $17.98 for shipping and a few extra dollars are spent on taxes (wherever applicable). This seems like a little too much for the customers given the amount of cheaper third party alternatives out there. But if you’re willing to look over this, go ahead and purchase the new Nexus 7 sleeve from the link below.
