According to Punit Soni who is the VP of Product Management at Motorola, the carrier variants and the developer edition Moto X will be “rolling out in days”. This is a huge sigh of relief for non-AT&T users waiting to get their hands on the new Motorola flagship. AT&T began selling the smartphone today with the Moto Maker site which went live shortly after. Mr. Soni refrained from giving out any specific details on launch as it is left to the carriers.
According to Soni, the AT&T Moto X was merely step one of the process. But the mention of the word days could mean that we might have the likes of Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile launching the smartphone by the next week or so. Even though these variants will be missing the Moto Maker customization suite, it’s still a great smartphone to look forward to. The developer edition of the smartphone which could be the Google Play edition Moto X we’ve been hearing about, will certainly find a lot of takers as well.
