Sony has just released a new firmware update (14.1.B.1.510) for the Xperia Z Ultra which brings with it the X-Reality engine among other things. The X-Reality engine, whose settings were previously not available on this model, allows for a clear and lifelike image reproduction on the display.
The 14.1.B.1.510 update is available by PC Companion / SUS and Bridge. Just connect the Xperia Z ultra to your computer and check for a firmware update. Once an update is found all you have to do is to follow the onscreen instructions.
Since this update is being rolled out in stages it might take a while before it becomes available in your area. Right now the update is confirmed to be already available in Indonesia, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The Xperia Z Ultra is a 6.4 inch high-end smartphone that’s dust and water resistant. It is aimed to compete against the high-end phablet devices of other manufacturers.
