A new mini variant of yet another HTC smartphone has been spotted at TENAA which is China’s device certification database much like the FCC. This smartphone allegedly is the mini variant of the recently leaked HTC Zara smartphone which we know a lot about thanks to leaks. This new smartphone goes by the model number HTC 301e a.k.a the HTC Zara Mini. Along with the certification data and a few images, the specs have leaked out as well and it is as descriptive as one could ask for.
According to TechKiddy, the HTC Zara Mini packs a 4.3 inch 480×800 display, a 5MP camera on the back with a 1.3MP front facing camera, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot for storage expansion, dual SIM connectivity (GSM/WCDMA), a 1 GHz Snapdragon 400 dual core chipset and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
The smartphone will be sold in white and black color variants. The estimated cost of the Zara Mini is pegged to be close to 1299 Chinese Yuan which is the equivalent of $212. All indications point at a Chinese exclusive, but given the kind of demand there is for midrange smartphones globally, we don’t think HTC should limit the launch to just one region.
