HTC has come under fire in the past for poor upgrade cycles and abandoning their smartphones in light of a new range being released. This time, they will continue to push new upgrades, we have already heard the HTC One X will be getting the Android 4.2.2 upgrade and now two smartphones will be getting a big jump to Android 4.3.
These two smartphones are the HTC One and HTC Droid DNA, the two latest devices flagships from the phone maker. The HTC One has only be out on the market for a few months and has had over 5 million sales, there is definite reasoning for the upgrade to Android 4.3.
For the HTC Droid DNA, it was released almost half a year ago and has been removed from the Verizon Wireless store, as the carrier prepares to add the HTC One to their service. The phone has been dropped, despite its impressive performance and 1080p screen, but HTC will still add Android 4.3 to the smartphone.
Jason Mackenzie, a HTC executive, has said the update will be coming to the two phones by September, hopefully. US and Canada will be getting the Android 4.3 update. Mackenzie has not commented on questions about European release dates or if the EVO 4G LTE will be getting the update.
Certifications and push upgrades to carriers are still needed before the HTC One and HTC Droid DNA get the update, but this will hopefully be sorted before the end of September.
