A new rumor has hinted at some of the hardware specs of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch. According to a tipster cited by Sam Mobile, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch will pack a 1.67 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 320×320, a dual core 1.5 GHz Exynos 4212 chipset, 1GB of RAM and a 2MP camera along with standard features like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
There’s no word on whether the display will be of the flexible kind which was shown off by Samsung at CES earlier this year. This is still a rumor for now, so don’t be surprised if the actual specs differ from what’s mentioned here.
There’s a little over two weeks left for the announcement now, so we don’t have to wait long to get clarification from Samsung. As we all know by now, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be announced during the Galaxy Note 3 unveiling on September 4. We are certain to get more details about the smartwatch as the launch date nears.
