CyanogenMod team announces support for eight new smartphones

The folks at CyanogenMod have just announced support for eight new smartphones for the CM 10.2 custom ROM. The good news is that it includes six Motorola smartphones and two Samsung smartphones, probably because most Samsung phones are already covered. The team announced this new development through its Google+ page. Here are the smartphones that were newly added to the CyanogenMod roster:

  • Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G (apexqtmo)
  • Samsung Galaxy S4 – C Spire (jfltecsp)
  • Motorola Atrix HD (mb886)
  • Motorola Photon Q – GSM (xt897)
  • Motorola Photon Q – CDMA (xt897c)
  • Motorola Droid Razr M (xt907)
  • Motorola Razr HD – GSM (xt925)
  • Motorola Droid Razr HD – CDMA (xt926)

The CM team is believed to be hard at work for the new CM 10.2 ROM which is based on Android 4.3. Some features of CM 10.2 have been revealed by the team, so the dev community in general is pretty excited about this. It will now depend on when CyanogenMod decides to launch the new custom firmware, as most users are inching to get it on their devices. Even Paranoid Android revealed its plans for an Android 4.3 based ROM, beginning with the Nexus 4.
