AT&T has just released some software updates to two of their smartphones from HTC. First up is the HTC One VX that is now being bumped to Android Jelly Bean. The second device is the HTC One that’s said to get a maintenance update that brings LTE enhancements.
HTC One VX
Starting today AT&T consumers who are using this model can now update their device to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This update brings in tons of new features to the device such as access to Google Now, the use of HTC Sense 4+ UI, as well as some AT&T LTE enhancements.
A notification will arrive on the device prompting users that an update is available. Aside from this, users can also manually check for the update by going to All Apps > Settings > AT&T Software Update > Check for updates on their device.
The update brings the device to software version 2.21.502.1.
The HTC One is also getting a maintenance update today which brings the device to software version 1.26.502.15. This is the second update released by AT&T on this model and its changelog indicates that an LTE enhancement has been made. This is an OTA update and a notification will arrive on your device. The update can be checked by going to All Apps > Settings > AT&T Software Update > Check for updates.
Before proceeding to update any of these two devices AT&T has released some pre-requisites which must be met in order for the procedure to be a success
- Set aside approximately 20 minutes to allow the device to update, possibly longer based on Wi-Fi network speed
- Connect the device to a charger
- Ensure the battery is charged to at least 30%
- Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network to download the software file.
