ARCHOS Announces Upcoming Products Ahead OF IFA 2013

ARCHOS has just announced their upcoming lineup of smartphone and tablet devices for this year ahead of IFA 2013. The French electronics company has provided a sneak peek into the devices that it will be showcasing at the event which includes new Platinum and Xenon devices.


Loic Poirier, CEO of ARCHOS, said that “This combination of innovation, value for money and rich product portfolio should allow ARCHOS to further increase its market share in the coming months.”

Some of the company’s products that will hit the market soon are listed below.

Archos 50 Oxygen

  • This will become the company’s latest flagship device when released. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and comes with a 4.5 inch full HD IPS display. It uses a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. Other notable features include 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Archos Platinum, Titanium smartphone models

  • The company aims to release smartphones that will appeal to the budget conscious consumer. Prices start at €99 or $131 for 4 inch models. They come with dual core processors and have dual-SIM functionality. It’s going to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and will come with a 5mp rear camera with a 0.3mp front camera.

Archos 101xs2

  • This 10 inch Android tablet comes with a keyboard which also serves as its protective cover. This model comes with a quad core processor and has an IPS display as well as stereo speakers.

Archos Platinum tablets

  • The new lineup will use quad core processors and run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The display resolution has been increased with the 9.7 inch model having a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

Archos ChildPad tablets

  • The company aims to release new child-friendly devices that come with bigger displays. The current 7 inch model will soon be joined by an 8 inch and 10 inch model. The Archos 80 ChildPad and Archos 101 ChildPad will both be running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and come with a parental control feature.

Archos GamePad 2

  • The company will soon be releasing a new Android gaming device that will sport game control buttons on the sides of the case.

Archos Xenon tablets

  • The company announced 3 new Platinum tablets that will come with 3G functionality and will cost less than an Apple or Samsung Wi-Fi only tablet. All models will come with HD displays and run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
