The Brooklyn area will receive Sprint’s 4G LTE data coverage beginning from the 30th of July, said the carrier. In addition to Brooklyn, regions of Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island will also get 4G LTE coverage on Sprint’s network. Verizon currently has the largest 4G LTE network in the country, but Sprint and AT&T are catching up pretty fast. The carrier is believed to have begun testing the network in the aforementioned regions of New York, so don’t rule out the possibility of catching LTE speeds earlier than scheduled.
The press release also stated that the carrier will bring LTE and 3G coverage to over 277 Subway stations in New York, which will be great for commuters. This however, is a long term plan, so you might not see coverage immediately.
Only yesterday, Sprint started a new promotion which offered the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S III on a buy one get one (BOGO) offer. With the expansion of its 4G LTE network, the carrier has certainly won more fans.
