Some new images of the Sony Xperia Honami i1 have surfaced, revealing the front, back and the bottom bezel. From what we can see here, it seems like the smartphone will borrow heavily from the current line of Xperia flagships, with the plain back and a high res display with three onscreen Android navigation buttons. We’re more impressed by the placement of the speaker grille on this smartphone, as it is placed on the bottom bezel of the smartphone instead of the back, meaning there won’t be any blockage of sound when kept on a flat surface.
Surprisingly, despite packing the rumored 20MP camera sensor, the smartphone doesn’t appear to be too thick and there’s no visible bulge near the camera either. So we’re guessing Sony has done some work to chop off the bulk that comes with the new age mobile camera sensors. It also appears to feature a single LED flash, which comes off as disappointing to be honest.
To sum up from what we could gather from the images, the Xperia i1 Honami could well be next big thing as far as camera phones are concerned. We can expect the inevitable comparison with the Nokia Lumia 1020 and other stalwarts of the industry when the smartphone is launched.
