Samsung Officially Adds Dual-Mode LTE S4 and S4 Mini to the Galaxy S4 Lineup

If you thought the world has had more than enough variants of Samsung’s flagship smartphone the Galaxy S4, you would be surprised to know that the company just made two more variants official – the dual-mode LTE Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini.

Samsung Galaxy S4

Just in time for the summer, Samsung is continuing with the trend of releasing new versions of their flagship smartphone to cater for every and anyone’s needs.  These two Galaxy S4 variants are the first phones to support both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE modes.  Technically speaking, ZTE’s Grand Era was the first to support dual LTE modes but Samsung takes the crown for popularizing it on its high end flagship smartphone.

These new Android phones are equipped to operate in different 4G LTE network types, making it possible for it to be used anywhere in the world on 4G.  Other LTE phones can only work on specific 4G LTE modes.  The standard LTE mode is FDD-LTE but TDD-LTE is becoming more and more popular each day, especially as it is being deployed mainly in China.

There are no details on how much the new dual-mode LTE Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini will go for or when they will be available, but it is likely they will be available in the market very soon.  Samsung has already made the Galaxy S4 with Advanced LTE and the announcement of these two phones is a clear indication of just how serious Samsung is in investing in 4G LTE as the future of mobile data, at least until 5G becomes a hit.
