Samsung has recently announced that they will hold its first North American developer conference this coming October. This move is seen by many as the company’s way of relying less on Google. This conference was announced in a teaser as of the company website and will happen on October 27 through 29 at San Francisco’s Westin St. Francis Hotel.
There are still few details on what will happen during this event however the South Korean giant said that it primarily focuses on developers to “Engage with industry leaders,” “Collaborate with fellow developers,” “Learn about new Samsung tools and SDKs,” and “Create what’s next.” An insider revealed that it will be more of crating ways for developers to make software that works across the various Samsung products.

Just last May Samsung announced their Smart App Challenge 2013 which was a contest that made people find interesting ways to use group communication apps for the Samsung Galaxy S4.
