The Oppo Find 5 TD which works on China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA 3G network just got its hardware upgraded and now uses a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600. Previously this device used Snapdragon S4 Pro with a quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor. Even with the upgraded processor the cost of the device still remains the same.
The device now has four cores on the upgraded Krait 300 architecture. While it still uses the same Adreno 320 GPU, its Arithmetic Logic Units (ALU) has been increased from 64 to 96. This gives it a considerable boost in performance.
The Snapdragon 600 processor has an official clock speed of 1.9 GHz but the company seems to be under powering it to ensure that battery performance will not suffer. They could have gotten a larger battery capacity but then the overall design of the device might change since a bigger battery will mean a bigger smartphone.
