A leaked internal document of Rogers shows that the highly anticipated Moto X smartphone will be coming exclusively to the Canadian carrier. Mobile Syrup was able to get a hold of the document shows that the device is LTE-enabled and will run on the Rogers’ LTE Max network. No pricing or release date was revealed though but we could get this information during an announcement to be made by Motorola this Monday, July 11th.
The version of the Moto X that’s going to be available at Rogers will be the standard version. As far as exclusivity goes we aren’t sure if it is a timed exclusive or just an exclusive. It would be great if it were a timed exclusive since after the set time period has expired other carriers can have it available. One disadvantage of it being an exclusive is that it will limit the market of the Moto X in Canada.
Those who wish to purchase the device over at the Motorola website will have more choices such as selecting the color and the shape of the back trim. Reports also say that consumers will also be able to have the back part of the device engraved.
So what do we know so far regarding the Moto X? We’ve rounded up information on its specs which is still unofficial.
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- 4.7 inch 720p display
- 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro
- 2 GB of RAM
- 16 GB of internal storage
- 16-megapixel rear camera
- 5-megapixel front-facing camera
Motorola claims that the device can be easily customized by the consumer. This is however limited only to choosing different colors for the back cover, choosing engravings, and changing wallpapers. As far as the hardware configuration goes it isn’t possible. No reconfigurations can be made for the cpu, graphics engine, and other parts that are inside the Moto X.
