A new report claims that LG could be working on the third iteration of the Vu series of smartphones. The original Optimus Vu and the Vu 2 have silently arrived and gone off the shelves without much fuss, but LG seems to be fairly optimistic about this third one. The first two Vu smartphones have sold over a million units in its home region of South Korea, which could be a motivating factor to launch this third one.
The rumor suggests that the Optimus Vu 3 will retain the same 4:3 aspect ratio, along with a 5 inch 1280×960 resolution display. The rest of its specs are unknown at this point, but we don’t think it will be anything to write home about. We’re not sure if the market is ready to accept another one of these boxy smartphones from LG.
The Optimus Vu is available in the U.S under the name of LG Intuition on Verizon. Expectedly, we haven’t heard a lot of it since the launch. So we’re guessing this will be an exclusive to South Korea, where the first two iterations of the smartphone have done fairly well.
