Two TV commercial storyboards showing the Motorola Droid Ultra and the Droid Maxx have been leaked online. The storyboards were sent to Android Central, which published them before having to take down the images due to undisclosed reasons.
Motorola Droid Ultra
The ad storyboard for the Motorola Droid Ultra shows the sequence of events in a thirty-second television commercial. Called “Invulnerable,” the advertisement shows a man who uses the handset to search for a music-related location. He is later seen in a nightclub, where he accidentally drops his smartphone, sending it across the room. He puts the smartphone back in his pocket then returns to the car.
The camera focuses on the smartphone, which appears to be free of any scratches. The man then uses the voice control feature of the smartphone to launch Spotify, and play a Coltrane Mix. “Blue Train” by said artist is played.
The commercial ends with information that the Motorola Droid Ultra features Gorilla Glass protection as well as a Kevlar case, both of which will work to keep the device safe against scratches and drops. Lastly, it also indicates that the smartphone will be exclusive to Verizon, and is arriving on August 8, 2013.
The Motorola Droid Ultra had been spotted in various leaks prior to this. Just yesterday, alleged test photos from the device were published online. A few days ago, a photo of the smartphone in white, as well as what appeared to be a limited-edition version of the device with the Ferrari logo also circulated in various websites. Early this month, a placement page on Motorola’s website has already revealed the smartphone’s list of specifications, which does include the Kevlar casing and Gorilla Glass screen featured in the TV commercial. The other specifications of the smartphone include a 4.3-inch, 540 x 960-pixel display, 2000 mAh Li Ion battery, Dual-Core 1.5GHz processsor, 8GB of memory, 8 MP rear camera, 0.3 MP front camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, NFC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
Motorola Droid Maxx
On the other hand, the ad storyboard for the Motorola Droid Maxx, focuses on showing off the smartphone’s two days’ worth of battery life. The ad, called “Island,” is also for a thirty-second ad, like “Invulnerable.” It features a man and a woman on a boat using the Droid compass app. Later, the engine fails, and the two find themselves on an island. Worrying, the woman asks the man about how long the Droid Maxx’s battery life is. The man responds, “two days.” Then, they use Spotify to play a tropical island mix. Lastly, the voice-over reiterates that the Motorola Droid Maxx comes with 48 hours of battery life.
Like the Droid Ultra, this device has been spotted in previous leaks. The most recent surfaced only a while ago, courtesy of @evleaks, showing a photo of the Motorola Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra, and Droid Mini together.
