HTC Will No Longer Update 2012’s One S, stuck at 4.1

It’s a sad day for you HTC One S owners out there. 2012’s T-Mobile exclusive (in the States) will be no longer receiving updates and will be stuck at its current version of 4.1.1. That’s terrible for a smartphone that was a “flagship”. It launched with Ice Cream Sandwich and only got one update.

At least it’s up to Jelly Bean, but that’s still terrible for a flagship. HTC also earlier this year had promised to update the One S and a few others would also get Sense 5 and 4.2. But now that the One S if off the table, I’d worry a bit if I were you with a One X or One X+, even though they haven’t sad anything. For the latest news on updates for those devices, keep it here at The Droid Guy.
