The HTC One smartphone is reportedly receiving the Android 4.2.2 in some locations of Europe. It’s hard to narrow down regions as of now, but it appears to be a gradual rollout. This means good news for worldwide users, as an update notification could hit their smartphones any time within the next week or so. It has taken HTC quite a while to sort out the update roll out issue, but the result will be very rewarding for the users.
This comes after the dual SIM variant of the smartphone received the update earlier this week in China which was later followed by the global version of the smartphone in Taiwan. We’re not sure how long it will take to hit the carriers in the U.S and other parts of the world, but users with the unlocked version are definitely going to be the first to get it.
Here are a few new features making its way with the update:
- Widget panel rearrangement
- Launcher bar enhancement
- The death of the black bar
- AE/AF enhancements in the camera
- Battery percentage in the status bar
- New lock screen style and widget
- Quick settings
- Enhanced behavior of the home button
