Google will no longer offer 3-month Netflix promotion with purchase of Chromecast due to high demand

When Google announced the Chromecast yesterday, they mentioned that they would be offering a free 3-month Netflix trial with the purchase of every $35 Chromecast. Well, due to insane demand over the last 24 hours, Google has axed this deal, effectively killing it. However, the trial will be available for those who purchased the Chromecast dongle before the promotion was killed. Here’s the official statement from Google:

“Due to overwhelming demand for Chromecast devices since launch, the 3-month Netflix promotion (which was available in limited quantities) is no longer available,”

It’s sad to see this promotion go so quickly, as it was one of the major reasons why people pulled the trigger on purchasing the device so fast. Since a 3-month Netflix trial is valued at $24, you would only really be paying $35 for the Chromecast.

Our Chromecast is scheduled to arrive Monday, and we’ll have a review soon after.
