The Chromecast has been extremely popular, as the $35 price tag has been attractive to many. However, those of you who own a Droid RAZR may want to hold off purchasing one for a while. According to Droid-Life, the Droid RAZR is unable to cast anything other than Netflix and YouTube, meaning Play Movies and Play Music won’t work. However, the Bionic and Razr HD have no trouble playing Play Music or Play Movies.
As Droid-Life mentions, Chromecast requires Android 2.3+, something that the Droid RAZR already has, so that’s not the issue. It could be because of the Play Movies/Music app itself, and hopefully updates to both of those apps can fix the issue.
For now, all Droid RAZR users can do is use a different Android device if they wish to use Play Music or Play Movies.Hopefully Google and Motorola will push out a fix to affected devices soon.
