The Pantech Discover smartphone on AT&T is reportedly getting an update to Android 4.1.2. The smartphone which launched earlier this year boasts of praiseworthy specs on a budget price. The only issue with the smartphone was that it broke cover with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich rather than Jelly Bean. But it’s good to see the smartphone getting an update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 finally, which means that Pantech hasn’t given up. To check for an update, users can head over to Menu – Settings – AT&T Software Update – Check For Updates or simply wait for the OTA notification to arrive.
The smartphone holds a 4.8 inch 720p display, a 12.6MP main camera, 2MP front facing camera, the dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 chip, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable), LTE and a 2,100 mAh battery. The Pantech Discover costs $49.99 on contract from AT&T, which is a great deal considering the hardware it packs. It would be hard to speculate if Pantech is working on the Android 4.2 update for the Discover, but we’ll keep our hopes up.
