AT&T Galaxy S3 getting Android 4.1.2 update

Galaxy S3

Just after the Pantech Discover on AT&T started getting the Android 4.1.2 update, the Samsung Galaxy S3 too has started receiving the same update. This seems like a lucky day to be an AT&T customer. The Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy S3 has been long overdue, especially since rumors of an Android 4.3 update are already making the rounds. The update will be an OTA of course, but if you’re impatient, you can check it manually by heading over to the Settings. Initial accounts claim the update weighs in at 220MB and could also be a Wi-Fi only download.

The update will change the build number of the smartphone to JZO54K.I747UCDMG2, as you can clearly see from the screenshot above. Interestingly, there’s no official word from AT&T yet, so the changelog is not available. Forum users on Android Central have reported the inclusion of the Multi Window feature with this update. This could well be a partial roll out so don’t be too worried if you don’t see the notification hit your phone yet. We’re hoping AT&T will issue an official release later today or early tomorrow.
