SimCity is the latest game that has been release by Electronic Arts and was scheduled to make its debut on Mac next week – June 11th but the company has announced that the release will be delayed. Their reasoning for the delay is because the game is “not ready for primetime yet.” The title has been pushed back to August now. The game received a lot of hate by the gaming community that they couldn’t play offline and there was a few major server problems when the game initially released.
The senior producer Kip Katsarelis said “We have made this tough decision because we do not believe it is ready for primetime yet, we want to ensure the Mac is a great experience for our players and that is why we are taking more time.” EA has said that they will extend the availability of SimCity Launch Park so that Mac players will still be able to access it, this is in an attempt to keep those waiting for SimCity to come to Mac happy while they work out the kinks.
If you just can’t wait until August to play SimCity you could always bootcamp your Mac and purchase SimCity for Windows, EA has said that Mac users will be entitled to a copy on windows and vice versa.
