HTC Desire 200 leaks online, sports low-end specs

The HTC Desire 200 is reportedly a new Android device to expand the phone maker’s product line. A hands-on video of the device which appears like it has been filmed in Vietnam has been published online. Such video reveals some of the alleged specifications of the handset.

Among the specifications are a 3.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and a 1 GHz processor under the hood. There is also 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage space, which is expandable through a microSD card. The device draws its power from a 1400 mAh battery. It also comes with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, according to the leaked specifications, but HTC may eventually offer the device with Android 4.1 onboard.

Judging from the list of specifications, it is obvious that this is a handset aimed at the low-end market segment.

The price and date of availability of the HTC Desire 200 are still unknown as of press time.

The HTC Desire 200 is rumored to be a successor to the HTC Desire C, an entry-level 3.5-inch handset which was unveiled last year. The same smartphone also appeared last month along with the HTC Desire 600, which had already been launched. As compared to the Desire 200, the Desire 600 has a better list of specifications, and comes with a mid-range price. The Desire 600 comes with Android Jelly Bean, a 1.2 GHz processor, a 4.5-inch qHD display, BoomSound, Beats Audio, an 8 MP rear camera, a 1.6 MP front camera, and dual speakers.
