Screen Shot 2013-06-19 at 4.14.49 PMThe Droid DNA was the first 1080p smartphone to reach the US, but since that time, a flurry of other 1080p handsets have flooded the market. It looks like the DNA will soon be replaced, as an internal Verizon document shows that they are ready to close out the sale of the Droid DNA, as well as the ancient Incredible 4G LTE.

Could this mean that the HTC One or the successor to the DNA is on its way? HTC just announced the Butterfly S this morning, which could be rebranded and renamed the DNA+ or DNA 2. After all, the original DNA was rebranded from the HTC Butterfly, so this move would make sense.

Verizon also announced earlier this month that they would be bringing their own version of the HTC One, but never announced any further details other than that. Verizon could be launching the HTC One to replace the Incredible 4G LTE, and then a DNA+ to replace the original Droid DNA.

Only time will tell, as Verizon’s @DroidLanding Twitter account has also been acting up recently. This will be an exciting upcoming few months for Verizon subscribers.
