A company called Colorware is offering to customize your Samsung Galaxy S4 in virtually any color.
To date, Samsung’s Android flagship of 2013 comes in two colors, White Frost and Black Mist. Allegedly, more colors will soon expand this list of choices, including Blue Arctic, Red Aurora, Purple Mirage, and Brown Autumn. Still, this list is very limited, especially if your favorite color is not included.
Colorware proposes a solution, if you are willing to shell out $1,000. This price gets you a GSM unlocked Galaxy S4 in the color of your choice. In terms of specifications, however, this handset is identical to others available in the market.
On its official website, Colorware lets you pick the color for the screen, the button below the display, the frame, and the back. The screen has only two choices, black and white, to select from, but all the other customizable parts come in a rainbow of colors with memorable, sometimes quirky names. The list is divided into two kinds, solid and metallic; and also into the two kinds of finishes available, gloss and matte.
The solid colors are: cranberry, formula, crush, mango, caution, billiard, jade, carribean, glacier, cobalt, abyss, frostbite, concord, cotton candy, romance, smoke white, vanilla, fossil, coffee, and jet black. Meanwhile, the metallic colors are: candy apple, zest, hybrid, blaze, gold rush, lightning, star dust, envy, alpine, dragon, midnight, techno, wet, powder, lilac, blush, glamour, mystique, prowler, root beer, sand, diamond, steel, graphite, and carbon black.
Colorware accepts orders through its website, and sends the customized handset in around 14 days.
Apart from the Galaxy S4, the company also customizes other electronic devices and accessories. Some of these are the iPhone 5, Blackberry Q10, Beats Studio by Dre, Senheiser Wireless Microphone, iPad, MacBook Air, Leica D-Lux 6, Xbox 360 S, and Segway i2. Pre-customized products are also available, and will ship out within a day.
