Samsung appears to be venturing on new color territory with the Galaxy Note 8.0. Such device has recently been spotted in a brown-black color combination in the websites of some retailers. Among those which now carry the new color option are Best Buy, B & H, and BuyDig.
As per the device’s photo, the new Galaxy Note 8.0 sports a black front panel and button. Meanwhile, the stylus is black at the top, and brown at the bottom. There is no photo available of the device’s rear panel, but it is presumably the same deep brown shade as the bottom part of the stylus.
On Best Buy, the device is listed as Brown/Black, while at BuyDig, the color is called Black & Brown.
As for its price, the Galaxy Note 8.0 retails for $397.99 at BuyDig, whereas at Best Buy and B & H, it costs $399.99.
Buyers of the slate are eligible to receive $25 of Google Play credit when they register the tablet at Samsung. The promo, which is valid only until August 17, 2013, is open for buyers of the original Galaxy Note 8.0 in Cream White, as well.
In the past, Samsung introduced brown versions of the Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, and the Galaxy S IV, but the Brown-Black color combination is a new offering the South Korean electronics giant.
It may be recalled that last month, the Brown Black Galaxy Note 8.0 was already revealed through a leak, first by Sam Mobile, then by @evleaks, two known sources of information about upcoming Samsung products.
From the list of specifications, it looks like Samsung is not introducing any changes to the 8-inch S-Pen-equipped tablet. It still features Android Jelly bean 4.1, an 4,600mAh battery, 5MP main camera with Auto-Focus, 1.3MP front camera, a 1280 x 800-pixel WXGA TFT display, Exynos 4412 quad-core SoC, 2 GB of RAM, and microSD expansion up to 64GB.
