Google I/O was a conference to debut their newest software, there wasn’t much talk about hardware except from the Galaxy S4 with Googles own Android flavor on the device. Hopefully this summer Google will be revamping the Nexus 7, there has been rumours circulating that Taiwanese electronic manufacturer Elan Microelectronics that they are starting to ship touchscreen circuit boards for a new 7 inch tablet.
There is no date set for a new product to be coming from Google but to keep thing competitive, the Android tablet is losing some traction in the market since you can only buy them from Google and the 7 inch tablet market is receiving a lot of interest from other companies.
The tablet is likely to ship with the newest version of the Android operating system dubbed Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, it has also been suggested that along with the updated software the screen will be updated to a higher resolution. Also larger storage option faster processor are also rumoured while retaining the price point.
Google has not release any information about a new updated Nexus 7 tablet or any events coming up in the summer, we’ll just have to wait and see if the Nexus 7 does get the update that it needs to stay competitive.
