LG F320 (Optimus G2?) Spotted at Bluetooth SIG and AnTuTu, Coming Soon with 2 GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU?

It’s been less than 24 hours since LG made its newest flagship phone official on AT&T, but apparently the Optimus makers are already hard at work on the next pack leader. Allegedly dubbed Optimus G2, this has been a star of the rumor mill ever since late last year, although some of the related reports have proven to be fake, while others were simply bonkers.

For instance, do you remember when we had it on “good authority” the G2 would come packing an 8-core LG-made Odin processor? What a load of rubbish, eh?

The latest word around the block however is far less crazy and much more trustworthy as a consequence, pinpointing the Optimus G2 as a zippier phone, but not by much compared with the G Pro.

Also known as the F320S, F320K or F320L, the thing has been spotted getting Bluetooth SIG certification and making its first benchmark rounds. The former is the piece of info that confirms the phone is real and quickly closing in on its official launch, but the latter part is the juicier story, as it provides some insight on the monster’s specs.

Apparently, the Optimus G2 will be packing a 2 GHz processor, most likely a quad-core Snapdragon 800 unit, at least in the F320L variation headed to Korea’s LG U+. Oddly, the F320K (aka KT’s version) is to be powered by a slower 1.5 GHz CPU. Even more bizarre is the F320K actually scores higher in AnTuTu than the F320L – 18,930 points vs. just 17,188.

And to wrap it all up with a neat, crazy bow, an LG F340L has also been allegedly benchmarked, scoring a higher 21,416 points while packing a 2 GHz processor. Out of the three devices, only the F320K runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, whereas the others come with 4.2 JB.

Usually, when something smells fishy in relation to benchmarks, it’s because the tests are big, fat fakes, so my guess is at least one of the “leaked” AnTuTu listings is a hoax. Maybe even two, as there appears to be something off about both the F320K and F340L.

Regardless, the Bluetooth SIG certification is enough to support Optimus G2’s existence and to make us assume the thing will be official by the end of Q3, meaning in August or September.

Other rumored specs besides the Snapdragon 800 chip include a Full HD, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution display (likely at least 5.5 inches in size), 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP rear-facing camera and a whopping battery of at least 3,200 mAh. Pretty cool, right?
