Huawei Ascend P6 rumors have been making their rounds in the online community lately. However, there is no official confirmation yet from Huawei about their new smartphone. But apparently, their chief executive was careless enough to let the information slip in a microblogging platform according to Techradar.
Huawei Chairman Richard Yu was reported to have slipped an information about the device in the Chinese microblogging site called Sina Weibo. He also went on to say that it will be released on June 18 at an event in London. He did delete his message later upon realizing his mistake but not before people started noticing it. Now, it is floating around in various tech news sites.
Huawei P6 Specs
The Huawei P6 is considered to be the world’s thinnest smartphone. Based on the report, its thickness only measures around 6.2mm which gives it the distinction of being super sexy. But the display of the device is pretty decent with its 4.7-inch. Then, it will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 2GB RAM and Jelly Bean OS. Plus, it will come equipped with 5MP camera.
The Obsession of Huawei
For some time now, Huawei has been competing for the distinction of having the thinnest smartphone in the world. But they were unsuccessful at that because they were beaten up by other brands. For instance, they initially introduced the Huawei Ascend P2 as the thinnest smartphone in the world, but later rebranded it as the “world’s fastest smartphone” because another company came up with a thinner device.
Just in case you are wondering, we are not exactly sure about the basis of their “fastest smartphone in the world” claim. Even Phandroid is left puzzled about the company’s basis of measurement to support their rebranding.
Going back to the topic, Huawei finally did it with the P6 but it won’t be long though until another company beats them to it. Based on a Chinese news source, the Umeox X5 is being developed to dethrone the P6 later with its 5.6mm thin smartphone.
