BLU Products Announces Three Budget Phablet Devices

BLU Products might not be a popular manufacturer yet but the company has been releasing several budget friendly models over the past years. Today the company has announced three new Android devices that sport large displays. The new devices expand the company’s Studio Series lineup and include the Studio 5.0, Studio 5.0 S and the Studio 5.3 S.  The company says that these models have an entry level pricing that will appeal to the budget consumer.

According to  Samuel Ohev-Zion, CEO of BLU Products, “We’ve gotten to a point where, for a large part of our customer base, nothing short of a 5.0-inch screen is acceptable – it’s becoming the mainstream. Still, these devices haven’t been affordable. It’s embarrassing to see the tiny, low resolution displays that traditional manufacturers are offering at entry level price points. It’s been a major turn off for a consumers looking to upgrade to a smartphone, sometimes, for the first time. We believe the Studio Series will accelerate smartphone adoption in prepaid markets in the US and Latin America by offering the best possible value and user experience available in the market today.”

The common features among the three new devices are that they will come with dual sim functionality. This makes it easier for consumers to have access to two carriers at the same time on one device. It uses Android 4. 1 Jelly Bean as its operating system. It’s going to be sold unlocked and will be available starting next week at popular online retailers such as Amazon as well as several prepaid dealers all across the US.

Studio 5.0 S

This model still uses a 5 inch IPS display but the resolution has been increased to 960×540. It uses a Snapdragon S4 quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU and comes with an Adreno 203 graphics chip. This model comes with 1 GB of RAM and has a 4 GB internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD. It comes with a 2 MP front camera and an 8 MP rear camera.
