Looks like Nokia still has something in the box for the old Nokia Lumia 900 users. With the launch of the new series of Lumia coming closer, the Lumia 900 users now have something to celebrate. The AT&T Lumia 900 users, after a long wait, finally have the option of updating their OS to Windows 7.8.
So today marks the beginning of a new life for the old Lumia handset, as the aging handset will now have more features and improvements. For AT&T customers, the update can be downloaded from the Zune PC client.
A highlight of the some of the features
The Lumia 900 which was launched last year in the month of May became very popular within a few weeks after its launched. Some of the features of the phone include the AMOLED capacitive touch screen having 16 million colors, an onboard memory of 16GB (non-expandable), a screen size of 4.3 inches, which was quite large as compared to the Smartphones of its kind and a camera of 8MP.
The resolution of the camera is 3264 x 2448 pixels. The 900 uses the SoC, Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8055 chipset and has a 1.4GHz Scorpion CPU. As far as connectivity is concerned the phone has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a microUSB port for connectivity. Also it is based on a 3G network.
It must be understood that the Lumia 900 customers had been waiting for the windows update since a very long time. Because this option has just arrived, we are not sure as to what kinds of improvements or what new features the update has to offer but one thing is for sure; the users of the Lumia 900 have been given a reason to be happy. Some of the new features include:
- Live Tile sizes
- more theme colors
- an improved lock screen
- option of rotating Bing home page images and a few changes in the overall functioning of the phone.
