We give you a step by step tutorial to help you sever connections between these two devices.
Step 1: On your MacBook, open up the Apple Menu and click on option System Preferences.
Step2: Once the preferences menu opens up, Click on option Security & Privacy.
Step 3: Activate the Advanced button by clicking the lock icon on the bottom left-corner. Key-in your system password and hit Unlock.
Step 4: You can now click the Advanced Button to enter the Advanced options menu. The Advanced settings button is on the bottom-right corner of the screen. Once this is done, go ahead and click Ok.
Once you have followed these steps your Apple TV remote will only communicate with your Apple TV and not the MacBook. If you want to restart communication between the remote and Mac, follow the same steps till Step 4. You can then uncheck option ‘Disable remote control infrared receiver’ from the Advanced options menu. Once you click Ok, the two will start communicating again.
