Being a big fan of the Diablo franchise, I decided to download Eternity Warriors 2 in my Android tablet. I never played the first Eternity Warriors but the overwhelming reviews from users made me want to try it out.
According to the statistics of Google Play Store, the game has 252,366 downloads. Currently it has an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars. Around 193,548 users gave it 5 stars followed by 43,365 votes in the 4-star rating. Then, 9,489 gave it 3 stars, 1,860 voted for 2 stars and 4,104 people granted it a 1-star rating.
Despite the overwhelming feedbacks from users, here’s what I thought about the game:
The graphics is not that mind-blowing but it is not disappointing either. The way that the character changes its image during gameplay as you personalize it is nice. For instance, if you equip a certain armor or weapon that you have looted or bought from the shop, it will show up as it appears in the customization menu. This is not like other games wherein your avatar appears the same no matter what weapon or armor you equip it with. So, I only give it an average.
I do not really understand what led to the events of the game. From what I recall, I immediately started bashing some ghouls and skeletons’ skulls with my character’s weapon as soon as the game started. I do not really know what grudge the character has against the ghouls, but I thought it had something to do with their ugly faces.
But according to the description of the game in Google Play, the game takes place 100 years after the first one. Apparently, the demons were pissed because they were beaten in the first game so they are out for blood. Thus, your mission is to cleanse the various locations of Udar of the demons. To make it short, this is a rip-off of the popular Diablo series.
The controls are easy to understand. All the virtual buttons are laid out on the right side of your screen so you can easily find them. The controls will let you do normal, charged and special attacks. You can also block attacks and automatically counter them every successful blocking. Potions for boosting your health and energy are located above the action buttons.
In addition, there three types of skills that you can upgrade that will help you progress in the harder levels of the game. Moreover, there are various achievements that you can target in order to get certain rewards like gems and gold. Next, the multiplayer element will let you play with other players around the globe.
However, as you go on, the repetitive smash and hack action will eventually tire you out. Sooner or later, you will decide to quit the game like me and you will later look for another game that will offer you a fresher gameplay. Then, the game only features a warrior/barbarian protagonist so there is no variety in the kind of character that you can play.
While I was playing the game, I noticed that the game crashes every completion of around 3 to 5 dungeons. This can be quite frustrating because all the unsaved loots and gold that you have obtained will disappear. But I heard that Glu has fixed the major glitches in its new patch so I guess current players of the game will no longer be bothered with this problem.
Based on my experience with Eternity Warriors 2, I can only give it a 4 out 5 stars. The only things I did not like about the game is its repetitive and glitchy features.
