The rumor mill is talking about the Canadian smart phone maker, BlackBerry today. The company has recently released its new smart phone, the BlackBerry Z10 with the company’s new smart phone operating system, the BlackBerry OS 10. There is one more smart phone with this new mobile operating system coming from the company very soon, and that is called the BlackBerry Q10. This smart phone, unlike the BlackBerry Z10, will come with a physical QWERTY keypad.
Analyst Jefferies Peter Misek says that the company is already working on many other smart phones to be released later this year. According to him, the company will be releasing at least two to three new smart phones this year. One will be a mid range smart phone with a physical QWERTY keypad and with the new BlackBerry OS 10. This smart phone is expected to come with a price tag of around $400, and will be in the R series of BlackBerry smart phones. Another smart phone, which is also going to be a mid range smart phone, will be a full touch smart phone. We can expect the price of these two smart phones to be identical, but they may be from different series.
The third smart phone expected is a 5 incher, which will be more on the lines of the BlackBerry Z10. All these are scheduled for a launch by the end of the year. The analyst also says that the return rates of the BlackBerry Z10 have been “typical”. “Overall, our checks indicate typical return rates. Of the few phones that were returned, the only main commonality we found is that buyers thought the Z10 had a keyboard. As it does not, they returned it and will buy the Q10 instead.”
Well, we will just have to consider these reports with a pinch of salt till anything becomes official.
