In January, 2012, there was a rumor that the Finnish smart phone manufacturer, Nokia, was working on a smart phone which would come with solar charging. This means that you will no longer have to carry a spare battery or a charger with you everywhere you go, and you will also get the satisfaction of going green. But back then, the company just ruled out the rumor of using the sun as a cheap and green source of energy.
But that was not all, there was a rumor that the company had already built five prototypes with solar charging and had given it to five testers who then went out to different parts of the world. And the result was that the efficiency of the product was best where sunlight was in abundance. For example, the sun is out in Kenya the whole year, and solar charging is said to have worked like a charm. But in the Arctic Circle, where you do not see the sun so much, the tester was said to have chased the sunlight around the house.
And now, the company has released an image of a new smart phone with the caption, “Sun, sun, sun, here we come!” Now what could that mean? In the picture, the smart phone’s back is facing the sun, it looks like the smart phone is being made to absorb the sun light. Could this be a new smart phone from the company with solar charging? Well, there is no confirmed word on that till now.
Some people are saying that the company gave that caption to go with that smart phone just because of the color of the smart phone, yellow. And some people have also said that the caption may be an indication that the smart phone pictured may be released in the summer. Well, what do you think?
