While Sony does have more markets than the mobile one, with the vast success of Apple and Samsung, they are hoping the new Xperia Z will bring better luck than they have been having previously with their mobile devices.
NTT DoCoMo held an annual event to show off the newest smartphones coming to their service, and the head of the company praised Sony’s Xperia Z as the best smartphone out of the bunch, a huge amount of praise from the top carrier that will push the smartphone to consumers.
With the recent string of bad luck Sony and other smartphone manufacturers have had, it is a welcome change from pronouncing the Galaxy S3 or iPhone as the top smartphone. In many ways, the Xperia Z has many new features that Samsung and Apple’s offeringsmiss out.
This includes the waterproof and dustproof design and 13MP shooter. Sony has tried its hardest to create a phone that is a step above what other providers are offering, and it is getting huge amounts of praise from writers and carriers.
We now wonder what the fate of the Xperia Z will be in the hands of consumers. Early response has been good, but we expect Japan to be the top seller, with NTT DoCoMo praising the phone and Japan being Sony’s home turf.
The company is betting a lot on this smartphone, with advertisements showing the smartphone as the new edge. Sony obviously believes that it is time to show the world why they are the leaders of the mobile industry.
Recent reports also indicate that Sony will be building yet another smartphone for the third quarter of 2013, to succeed the Xperia Z. This move shows that the company will continue to put faith in the mobile market.
