Skype, the most popular video calling service in the world, has tweaked its original design to offer a new and improved video and audio calling experience with its version 4.6 released for Apple devices. Users who have worked on the new app are delighted at its offering and have called it a “beautiful” experience.
The first tweak has worked on ordering so that one-on-one chats with friends now appear in the right order. The new layout is uncluttered, neat and clean and does remind users of Apple’s enormously popular Facetime. A second fix aims at marking messages as read to differentiate incoming messages especially when a user is simultaneously chatting with more than one user. The new offering from Skype is version 4.6. The interface is stunning and offers a brand new, enhanced video calling interface that users love with first use. Skype has always been the preferred video chatting and calling app and software on a laptop, PC, phone or tablet. Even with Apple’s FaceTime app, there are iOS users who download and use Skype.
Version 4.6 is available for Apple mobile devices from the iTunes store. The OS version required for the app is iOS 5.0 and above so all devices from iPhones 3GS and above support the new version. iPod and iPads running iOS 5 can also run Skype 4.6. The app is free for download on the app store. The update should soon be available on Windows, android and BlackBerry, to be accessible from Samsung, HTC, Nokia and BB devices.
