The #nextbigthing to hit the mobile market is the release of the much-anticipated Samsung S IV. The Korean electronics giant is keeping the world in suspense over the latest member to their mobile offering. In a press release on Monday they were very selective on the information released. The first bit of information that they announced was an image of the phone. The image almost reflects a shy model, lurking in the shadow. Only a vague outline of the phone is visible. The distinctive Samsung logo at the top of the screen shines like a silver beacon through the dark. Secondly the release date is set for 14 March and invitations to this highly exclusive launch were sent out a month ago already.
In a press release on their website, the Samsung S IV will feature a whole range of new technology and energy-saving methods. Floating Touch allows the user to use their finger as a cursor when hovering over files. This displays a sneak preview of the content of the file, without having to click on it. SamMobile also released information on the advancement in the display. The display becomes 25% more power efficient by using “green PHOLED” which uses colour green-yellow. This new material is called AMOLED. The device will run Android 4.2.1 out of the box, and within a month of release, upgraded to Android 4.2.2.
So until March 14, we will just have to wait in anticipation to see what else Samsung has in store for their new flagship device.
